OK…. Here’s a new perspective….. The longer this supply thing drags out, the more our new trucks are going to be worth. There is already speculation that dealers will be asking well over MSRP for 22 Super Duty;s. Just think, we get new trucks, AND…. We can tell our wives (oops - spouses..) how awesome an investment we just made!!! Perfect! “ Oh honey, my King Ranch F450 will be worth WAY more than I paid for it …”

I was a little worried, as I never gave copy of ID or signed form, but I was just given build date of 7/24.

F 250 6.7 (limited)

Well, I'm not happy.
Salesman has not been very helpful through this process, not very communicative. I get more, better information from this forum than from him. I've been requesting the most recent build sheet for a while and finally got it on Saturday from him.
It includes the spray-in bed liner I had asked him to remove on 6/4. He said he would but it did not get done.

Now that the truck is scheduled, he tells me it cannot be changed, nor can I add the Universal Garage Door Opener, UGDO (85D), that I missed adding.

I can do without the UGDO, but I don't want to pay for a sub-standard spray in bed liner that I will likely have to pay to have removed when it starts peeling, tearing, failing in the not too distant future.

Debating on cancelling the order or just living with it. Not overly impressed with this guy. Nice enough, just not very hands-on apparently, despite having been at this dealership for along time.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting the factory spray in bedliner. The videos provided earlier in this thread are outdated and I found some inaccuracies in them plus they were biased since they were posted by a Line-X dealer so of course they want to make the other options look subpar! I ordered it on mine after inspecting several at the dealers lot.

So you specifically told him to remove the bed liner and he never did? I would work that in to the deal. You didn't want it, you shouldn't have to pay for it. I would have that 500.00 deducted. I dont understand why dealers do that. I'm going through same thing with my salesman. I asked for like 3 days to add the 2nd battery option to my 7.3 and he kept saying sure. ok. Never got added. I ended up just going to dealer website and looking up staff and email the NEW CAR manager directly who places all the orders etc. Hes been great. Dont even bother with salesmen.

Also, yes the factory spray is very crappy. I would have dealer give the 600 back and go get LIneX done. Luckily the factory one is so crappy it literally peels off.

Understand about taking what I see on the web with a grain (or 10# bag) of salt.

However, what caused me to request removing the OEM spray-in was looking at 4 brand new Ford trucks, 3 F150 and 1 SD, all with factory spray-in. Every one had at least one spot where you could easily see paint through the coating. It was also very evident that the coating is very thin. For a $595 option, what I saw was pretty cheap looking and not a quality job. I would gladly pay another $100-$200 for a Line-X where you get more of a mechanical bond rather than a chemical bond and a lifetime warranty.

As your BIA, 88M, 13J I wouldn’t worry too much about the spray in bed liner. Heard lots of good things about them, and I watched the video made by Line-X showing how crappy the Ford’s are. I’ve also looked at them on the lot, and that’s the reason I chose one, it looked good, and it looked thick, plus it has a warranty. There are a million opinions and videos of why you should buy a Dodge or Chevrolet. I’ve had second thoughts, but never entertained the thought of changing it.

How would a Ford dealer address a spray-in bed liner as a warranty issue?

They send it out to a local shop that deals with them.

Lots of things a dealership can’t do in house they send off. I had a seat come unstitched once and the dealership sent it off to get it restitched. So, my guess would be Line-X or a similar place. I doubt they’d send it back to KY, but all I know is that it IS covered for 3 years/36K, just like many other bumper to bumper items.

Knowing how dealers deal with concerns, I can see them saying a bedliner is functioning as designed....even if it starts to lift from the bed.

Got VIN last week and my salesmen verified schedule week of 8/9 today. Ordered on 4/29 with priority 19, asked him to bump priority last Monday and he had changed to a 10. Got VIN later that week, and build week today. SO I figure I will have mine in plenty of time for Thanksgiving trip.

Was too busy with work to do the usual Thursday afternoon call last week, so I called the 800 number today and received the VIN for my 2022 F550. Truck is still listed as "Order Processing" according to the rep I spoke with. Anyone care to give me a brief refresher on where I can plug my VIN into to get more details on the order without calling? Or when I might expect to have a build date confirmed after receiving my VIN?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it - shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#

The VIN search shows my order now, but still not not progressed to "In Production" yet.
