i bought some new hubs for my truck. its a 85 f250 with the dual piston front brakes and dana 44 front axle. i got one side in like its supposed to. but the driver side wont spline like its supposed to. i filed down the corners of the splines on the assembly go see if that would help and it didnt make a difference. i took the rotor and hub back off and to see if it was the splines in the hub or if it was the splines on the shaft that was the problem and the assembly splines on them both perfectly. independently. but when i put the rotor on if splines a 1/4 inch on the shaft and i guess hits the splines on the hub and stubs i tried pulling up on the rotor to see if that would do anything and it didnt. maybe i need to get a pry bar and have someone really pull on it while i slip it in. idk. anyone have this problem or anyone could help thatd be great thank you!!!
Yes, your axle stub (splines in the middle) are probably not in the center. Prying on the axle u-joint like the other poster mentioned should move it around and make it go.
