Bed separator

Well it just dawned on me that the 2 small "bump outs" in the bed of my truck is for placing a piece of 2x6 or 2x bigger to keep stuff contained between the wood and tail gate ::major face palm::
Anyways, is there an alternative that some of you guys are using besides using wood?

When we RV the recovery gear, Maxx Trax, First aid kit, shovel and extinguisher go on the Molle panels.

My 2011 F150 long bed had some handy indents on the side of the bed a 2X6 cut to length would drop right in to hold for example trash cans, tools etc from sliding forward. Inexpensive and worked great. My 2021 F350 long bed has some indents that are too shallow and too close to the back of the bed to be of much use.

I bought a cargo bar at Horrible Fright (Harbor Freight) for $14.99. It keeps my ice chest from sliding around.

Thanks guys. I’ve seen them metal retractable bars. Only concern I’d have is rust over time since I’d be to lazy to remove it from the bed every day 😂

For the 2x6 club fellas, are y’all using PT wood or regular wood?

A 2x4 does the trick for around $3. Nobody will ever steal it and if they do you won't care. The more expensive ratcheting or twist type dividers are nice but tend to walk away.

Had this same one in my 2015 F150. It works in the Super Duty. Had to space one of the box link brackets out with washers to make it work. This isn't my truck but it is the same exact divider.
