Im in the 2009-14 forum. (Im one with a 6.2 max tow)
I bought a 2017 F150. 5.0. Caribou. Has the 302a. Has the towing package. 3.55s.and its an XLT.

Most F150s after 2011 have EcoBoost. The EcoBoost is the most popular engine. The 2015 up also have the 2.7..

I suppose it doesn't impress anyone. I thought they would like to see it.

I dont think it is. Its been very good. The 2018 up 5.0s have been oil burners. The 2015 -17 5.0s have been pretty good..
I am not a fan of V6s in general. (No logical reason) and I dont like turbo chargers on gas engines.....so..
i much prefer NA engines.

Nearly 70K on my '15 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost. Absolutely no problem. I've driven turbocharged gas engines since 1994 and have had no failures
related to the turbo, or anything else on the engine. All of the horror stories went away when the manufactures put coolant jackets around the
turbo bearings.

+1. Nearly 60K on our 2015 3.5L EcoBoost, and it has been a dream of quiet, strong power. No maintenance issues at all.

Well, I guess I need to rethink it then. I had read a few horror stories of oil burning and gummed up intakes from DO design and bad rings. Maybe that was earlier? Good to know tough. Thanks fellas.

90k on mine and my cousin has 110K on his and neither have had issues. But the 5L did have a run of bad luck burning a year or two ago.

Yes the 2018 and newer.. has issues. And 2011to 2013.. had problems. The 2014 to 17 seem to be problem free so far.
I know some people that have the 3.5 EcoBoost. And the fuel economy isnt as good as it could be.
But anytime you are in boost......gas mileage suffers.

Looks just like my truck, 2017 XLT, 302A, 5.0L V8, 4X4, 3.31 rears ( that gear ratio kinda lacks ) and no tow package, just Class IV tow hitch, trailer wiring, no trailer brake controller, but in progress. Great truck! Adding a transmission cooler soon

nice. I would have preferred 3.31s. But my truck had most of what I wanted...

Let's trade! I'm in the hills of Eastern Pennsylvania and I can definitely tell I have 3.31's, but that's the only nitpick I have, just means I'm into the throttle a little more, which with a nice V8 grumble, isn't the worse thing! If you're doing any significant towing, definitely get the Road Master Active Suspension, a GREAT upgrade.

Bought my 2018 5.0 new. Closing in on 27,000 miles and no oil use issues. Love it!
