So my truck came from the dealer with this option (Marti Report) however its a replacement bed, are there aftermarket kits availablle or am i going to have to source a bed with it existing already?
No aftermarket bed side tool box kit available. Yes you are going to have to source a 73-79 bed with one or source a used tool box (cut out of a 73-79 bed). And yes it involves cutting the hell out of the bed to get the TB box lip. And then its time for some body work. It has been done, so it is doable. I have seen them on Ebay....FOUND ONE CHEAP... BETTER GET ON IT!
I should’ve chopped out the metal around this one. Guy was scrapping the bed and I just took the door and insert. Won’t fit your truck though, the body lines don’t match.
It wouldn't be hard to weld in. but I don't know if it's worth the effort. all my 73-79's have it but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they didn't, it's not like they're that great looking.
Thanks for the replies and links, i dont possess the skills or tools to attempt that kind of job unfortunately. I am going to have to find one already installed in the bed and try to purchase it.

I guess im on the hunt now!
I know of a whole bed in WA with one for cheap. I’m sure it’s easier to find one in Texas though.

Where are you located and what kind of shape is your current bed in? I have a bed with the tool box. However, my truck didnt come with it from the factory.
