what if the brake dust is baked on there?
Ive got some wheel cleaner that has I believe aluminum brightener in it. I used this on my other aluminum wheels with good results. Not sure if this is advisable for the PVD wheels
These are not a polished aluminum wheel. The PVD is a very thin vapor deposited coating applied to the aluminum wheel. The coating can be damaged by harsh cleaners. Google "cleaning PVD wheels" and you will find options to soap and water as well as what should be avoided. This will give you a better understanding of the PVD coating.
Ford owner’s manual for 2019 Super Duty, page 369 lists Motorcraft Wheel and Tire Cleaner, ZC-37-A. I have used this product on both 2019 and 2020 F250/F350 King Ranch PVD wheels with no harmful side effects.
