I'll probably do it but it seems like a rip off. does anyone know what model Warn it is ? maybe the cost of the winch is more than I think it is.
in any event it's nice that you can have a real winch without the aftermarket 900 lb Ronco home made looking winch bumper.
You will have to pony up the cash to get a plug in play, seamless winch option.
If you have the fabrication skills and tools, I'd suggest getting an off the shelf winch and building your own mount. There are many mounting provisions in the frame so it could bolt on. A warn 12k is about $1300, math tells you that's much cheaper.
For $1700 I could have a lawyer fab a bracket and install it . so it is a rip off. or I could do it myself I fab things much more involved than this.
That said, I'll probably just order it and pay the 3k because I'm getting older and lazy
That was my math😂. I remember when I was younger and was like why does anyone take their car to the shop... well once you have family and a real job time becomes more important than the $$$...
Well upon further investigation all the information I can find as well as a call to one of the sellers confirms the winch kit fits ONLY the tremor package pickups. but nobody can say why.
Is it just ignorance in the marketing, or is there something different about the Tremor in or behind the bumper ?

this isn’t correct. Check the 2021, and 2022 order guides.

I’m not sure where all you have looked, but it’s not correct. What is correct is ‘20-‘21 with 397 alternator is all that is required. There is no mounting or frame differences.
You can go through this link for more information:
My fleet sales manager researched it and even contacted the Ford rep and the winch IS NOT available on any model except the Tremor package . I'm putting in an order this week and it is officially not an option.
So it looks like it's buy the kit and do it myself. no big deal really.

I've seen multiple Ford window stickers with it added on non-Tremor Models. Your dealer is wrong. You cannot add it yourself on the Ford build your own site, but the dealer can configure it.

Sounds like your sales guy kinda sucks. Cause he’s wrong.
She's been the fleet manager at the same dealer since 1986. she's competent. and her Ford contact would have to be wrong too.
It is a dealer installed accessory and I can order it at the same time as the pickup and the dealer will install it before delivery. it would appear this is what factory ordered means. now on the Tremor I'm not sure I didn't inquire because I don't care but that may be factory installed.
Actually if you think about it there really isn't any other way it could be. Ford is not going to kick orders out of production because Warn can't supply winches fast enough. which is already the case. Warn is a good size company but compared to Ford's manufacturing capacity they're a mom and pop outfit.
What's more important is will the kits come in stock when they're saying and are they already sold out. guess I'll find out.

its already been stated in here multiple times. But let’s do it again. And yes, I have ordered a 350 CCLB that has the winch on the order sheet. I did not get the Tremor package.
You must have the 397amp alternator optioned, as it is a prerequisite.
The option code iirc is 15W. It is a standalone option that the dealer can select when they order the truck.
about two weeks before your truck gets to the dealer, Ford drop ships the winch. It is a dealer installed option. But if it’s on the window sticker it was part of the factory order. Invoice is $2400. So depending on how things work out it is cheaper to order it. With the truck than afterwards. I know with A/Z it’s definitely cheaper to order with the truck.
Per both the 2021, 2022 order guides the above is true. I’ve also got a retail order waiting to go in for a 2022 that includes it.
so yes, you’re gal doesn’t have it right. And neither does her Ford contact, if she even made a call or email.
I will run that by her but I don't have much hope. I was sitting there when she called her contact. I didn't ask who he was but he was in Seattle so I assume he was a regional rep. 15W is the option code and we added the 397 amp alternator as required. no go. looked at the Tremor order blank and no problem. I wouldn't give a FF but if it is cheaper on the factory order that I like.
The alternator was over $100 so if the winch at invoice is $600 cheaper that means it's over $700 cheaper to have the dealer install it than to do it yourself. that means you save over a grand in the end because they dealer would charge at least $300. I like it but in my experience if it sounds too good to be true it is, but I will pursue it.

Hello neighbor! Nice truck, not a fan of their wheel choice though👎
I do understand the confusion as even when I ordered by truck from above dealer at that time (September) I was told only available on Tremor... But not surprised either as even calling Ford corporate they seem ignorant of their own products...
