Gemme the pane

Ok guys so I have one question does anyone know if I can legally convert a 94 f150 to propane here in tx. The reason I ask is I'm looking at converting an f150 with the 4.9 to propane and then turbo charging it. From what I've looked up I can get fined for not having it converted at a qualified shop that charges between 6 and 12k. I could do it for less than 800 myself. I have access to an asme tank for the bed. Please help me answer the question so I can move forward with this. Or maybe not.

No way to do it yourself legally unless you buy the certification which is apparently super expensive. I haven't looked into it, but i don't think it's as simple as throwing a propane tank in place of your gas tank.

Problem isn't so much emissions inspection, but who is going to fill your tank? Tanks must be certified before they can be filled. There are legal requirements on the installation details as well, but it all boils down to certification before you can fill.
