After the 3k to get heads rebuilt im a bit paranoid that this problem is related to the sticky valve issue. Any chance these symptoms are valve related?
Another thing to check. If your tanks aren't venting properly, you can get those symptoms. Been there. I had what was supposed to be a vented fuel cap. It was, but it didn't vent well enough. The pump would pull vacuum on the tank until it couldn't flow fuel. I drilled a hole in the filler cap, and that stopped it. Then I got a different filler cap.
Found a new made in China module. 77$ . Installed that and will keep fuel caps loosened off. The symptoms have happened twice since I got the truck back after heads rebuilt. In about 2000 miles. So it will take awhile to tell. My biggest concern is that im still having sticky valve guide issues? Although those symptoms im having dont line up with sticky valves?
where are those located? A piece of that can get through the filter?
That once was the strainer on the end of the fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank. I found it when I examined the inside of the fuel tank. If pieces of it got into the fuel line they would probably be caught in the filter on the fuel pump.
