I did a search and nothing really pulled up. I'm looking at what years factory running boards or side steps will be a direct bolt up for a 2000 F250/F350. I've read anything from 2007 to 2011 to 2016. I'm not afraid of modifying them if need be so also interested if a newer style, like a 2020, may even fit with some modifications.
i have had many OEM running boards on my 06 SD. pretty much every time they changed the style i got a used set of take offs and installed them.currently have the 2020 boards with the embossed super duty sections between the body and the running board. some required a little massaging but all worked well. main thing is getting a length u like.

That sounds good to know...any tips and/or pictures on "massaging" as I would be appreciative...especially given this would be on a 2000 model.
I sold a set of a '08 recently to a guy that had a 2000 F250. The bolt holes lined up with his rocker panels but his did not have built in nuts. Other than that he was happy. We matched them up before he purchased them. That's on a 2000 and a 2008 F250 crew cab.

I think this holds true '99-16. I put something older on my '11 and the holes lined up. Some of my captive nuts had torn out but that's easily worked around.
As mentioned length is the critical part, ie RC, EC or CC
Thanks guys, right now I have a set of the round nerf bars on the truck that only attached at the ends. They've been on there since I bought the truck in 2001 and thinking about changing out to newer side steps. I see how these newer side steps have several...3 to 4...attaching points, and in addition each attaching point has 2 sets of attaching holes offset from each other for attachment in 2 separate locations. If anyone can snap a picture that would be great!
Okay, after some research I see where the 1999-2016 step brackets are basically a flat plate with four holes that mount to the inside of the lower door body mold. The 2017-2021 has two separate plates with two separate holes for attachment and assume one goes on the inside and the other on the outside of the lower door body mold. So I'm wanting to install the newer Ford factory 2017-2021 HC3Z-16450-BB extended length steps that have the Superduty part below the bed area which allow a step access to the bed. So in order to install these I either need to modify the brackets...assuming they won't work...or get brackets for the 2016 and earlier steps. Can someone help out with either showing how they modified the later or direct me where I can get the earlier brackets please!
If you are talking about the curved brackets that bolt to frame with four bolts and then bolt to bottom of running boards your dealer can get them for you. Bracket | FordUS
Looks good. Any pictures of how the brackets went on the body?
The brackets are factory 2016 and earlier, these are the later units that have the plastic front covers so you don't see the metal brackets and bottom bolt ends. The truck already has the holes and/or slots for the clip nuts to be inserted...though the front only has 3, the other 2 do have 4 to match to the metal mounting brackets. My old stainless nerf bars utilized M8x1.25 clip nuts and bolts, but I decided to buy new ones and went with a 5/16"x18tpi given they are more common. I found O'Riley Auto had a 25 pack of that size clip nuts for about $8, then I went to Home Depot and picked up the bolts, flat washers, and lock washers for about $12. I can snap a pic of it later today, but it's really straight forward.
I was thinking these steps would hang down lower than the nerf bars I've had on the truck for 20+ years, but they don't. In fact, the actual stepping surface is a little lower given the thickness of the step...plus it is a much wider stepping surface that my wife and kiddos much appreciate! I've had a couple of encounters with those nerf bars in the past...mainly at the boat ramp...where my foot slipped off the step surface and almost busted it. These are going to work out much better for that...not to mention I've always wanted that extension to get into my tool box. Not a bad investment for $225!

I dig this look and i am doing the same myself! How did you mount the brackets to the boards? It appears the holes don’t line up, I’m thinking of drilling and using nut insert rivets…. Do you think there is a need to reinforce the back portion sense the back support bracket won’t work?
They are the same as long as you use the same cab style. So single cab for single cab. Extended for extended and crew for crew. The years are 1999 to 2016 as the cabs are the same. I put 2007 chrome step bars on my 1999 f250. Just needs t9 be the same cab style.

That is correct for 99-16. However, these style steps are for 17-21 and the brackets are different. You still need to match up the truck configuration but You also have to use the older bracket with the new running board. They didn’t make the long wheel-wheel running board with the bed step until 17 unfortunately but it looks sharp when you retro fit it. I had ones off a 10 on my 02 prior but want the bed step on the new ones now
