Will installing this distributor give smog problems?

1994, Club Wagon, 5.8W, E4OD 240,516 Miles

I am considering installing the distributor in the link below.( MSD 8451 ) My engine is all stock and mostly original.
Question is, Would I have any problems passing smog with this Distributor?
I am in California and they vigorously inspect everything.
I am not worried about a visual inspection more of an exaust/emissions issue.

It does say this in the emissions section:

This part is legal for sale and use on Emissions Controlled Vehicles when used in accordance with the manufacturers application guide because it is a direct or consolidated replacement part.
The following vehicles are considered Emissions Controlled Vehicles:
  • 1966 and newer U.S. manufactured California Certified vehicles
  • 1968 and newer U.S. manufactured Federally Certified vehicles
  • 1968 and newer Foreign manufactured vehicle

I can't answer the smog compliance question, but this distributor apparently qualifies as a direct replacement and as such will work just like the original and not impact tailpipe sniffer results. That's a bit of a non statement though as there are no performance gains to be had with a distributor in this vintage motor anyway and a distributor has to work just like the original or the engine won't run at all, so hopefully you're just replacing it because the stock unit is worn or broken in some way.

Its the original distributor with over 240,000 miles on it.
Not looking for power or any kind of upgrade, I just keep reading bad reviews of the spectra brand and that seems to be the only other new distributor thats available for my van. I may have a bad PIP sensor, (as Ive posted a million times ) Ive got a very intermittant crank no start when ambient temps are hot and everything points to the PIP sensor. Although,......... I have read in a few places that if the check engine light goes out during a crank no start, that means the PIP sensor is working and thats what mine does.

I bought a used distributor to use as a rebuild but when I got it, it had a new rotor but when I flipped it over a broken part of an old rotor (the end contact) fell out and and I am hesitant to use it because I dont know if it did any damage to the inside of the distributor. I didnt pay that much for it so its not a big loss.

Thanks
