Currently I have a bds under spring 2 inch puck style level, but thinking about going with the Carli.has anybody ever done this and could tell a difference?and since I have the bds is it worth spending the money on a different kit?
I dont have direct experience with the kit but do know what it consists of. The coil springs and shocks are where the biggest difference might be felt compared to your spacer lift. Are you already running FOX 2.0 shocks?
The BDS kit is an $800 kit with the FOX shocks, so I guess the question is whether or not the Carli springs and trac bar make a $1k difference. My guess would be no. An improved ride yes, but $1k, that depends on who's money it is, how much seat time you spend in the truck, what type of driving.....
I don't care for the lift amount. I know its a leveling kit and that some buyers have this quest for absolute level, I'm not one of them. I like some rake and 2.5" lift on the 17-19 only leaves .5"-.75", in that regard your 2" BDS spacer would suit me better. On the 20+ trucks the same commuter kit would require a rear lift kit(block) to make it level. I wish they sold quality coil springs in various lift amounts. Get a better ride, more travel at your desired height.
My main thing is to get the drop bracket off and put an adjustable trac bar on,I wonder if the Carli bar would work on a 2 inch level.
If thats all you are interested in there are several adjustable track bar options. Carli is just one. They don't specifically say it works with a 2" lift, my guess would be yes, but a call to them would be best.
carli web site says for 2.5 nothing about a 2. May have to go with a pmf bar.
I would call Carli, if you like the Carli piece. There is a good chance it wil work with 2" of lift. They only mention it working with their 2.5" and 4.5" lifts because thats what they sell.
I would love to improve the ride of my truck but a levelling kit makes no sense if you tow a fifth wheel. The rake is necessary and important. If I level the truck, when I hitch up my fiver, the rear end is going to drop and my headlights will be pointing to the sky.
So my plan is to just add different shocks and install Sulastics shackles in the rear.
Any other suggestions for a F450 aside from the expensive route of changing tires/wheels?
Everybody has an opinion and Carli certainly is popular so as BDS and others. Carli is known for doing well offroad but there are questions I’ve heard repeatedly about on road performance. Do your own research and go after what you like.
i tow alot so i went with carli bds 2.0 with fox shocks, Rear stayed stock. Ride is much improved and can still since i have rack left. Other option would be to add air bags for the 2.5 kit. Not needed on 2019
