Thoughts on a wrap?

It takes two talents to pull off/put on a great wrap.
First, a great graphic designer with a flair for classic auto & trucks...
Then, after it's printed, a great installer for your full-body wrap, or you could DIY with smaller decals.
Clear vinyl makes a great protective coating on hoods, around door handles, etc.
What are your current ideas?

I tried 3 different places as I wanted the bumpers for my 81 flare side wrapped in chrome.
1 place that said they could do it but only in a SS wrap as they were afraid the chrome would scratch.
I did not want SS look then there was a 6 week back log and the price was crazy!
I could have sent the bumpers out for chromium for the price. I spray painted them silver with a clear top coat.
BTW they were customized so could not buy them that way.

If you choose the wrap route, ask the installer what brand wrap they use. If the answer is 3M, proceed, if Avery, do not proceed. There's a 1-ton dually that pulls a trailer for a local University and it is all wrapped. It's about 8 - 10 years old and still looks pretty decent.
Somewhere on this site is a pic of an Excursion wrapped in a brushed SS that looks killer, but I can only imagine the cost. 3M sheeting is not cheap.
As was stated, the designer and installer are critical.

I looked into wrapping my daily driver at about the time this thread was started... it's EXPENSIVE. They quoted me 5-7000 dollars for a single, non-metallic color on a regular cab swb pickup. I just wanted a color change but didn't want to necessarily make it permanent.
l know it's cheaper than getting an actual (professional) paint job, but... dam.
And I'm only gonna get a few years out of it?
Nope.
My truck is straight and rust-free so painting it myself would largely be a scuff-n-shoot proposition, all in for under a couple Gs using premium products and not counting my time (it has no value).
l guess that's why you only really ever see businesses and bucks-up guys with wrapped vehicles.
