Honestly I used the adapters and hated them, I would just invest in the shank that fits the hitch, you will be happy you did.

Any suggestions on a 3”-2” adapter? I only tow anything once in a blue moon and already have a couple 2” shanks.

I know some will say to get a 3” shank but it’s hard to justify since it’s so rare that I tow and typically very light when I do.

Can anyone tell me what the "option" combination is in order to be certain you are going to have a 3" receiver on the truck? Or are all SD trucks now coming with 3" receivers? My truck arrives in a couple weeks and am trying to determine if my current weight distribution hitch will work on it or if I'll need to either replace the shank, buy an adapter, or get a whole new hitch. It's a 2021 F-250, 7.3L, XLT premium, CCLB, with 4.30 gears. Thanks.

Thanks. Can you tell me what the deciding factor is in that? I was thinking it was having the max tow package, which is only available with the 6.7 diesel, that would step it up to 3" but I can't seem to find any literature confirming that.

Do you have the Curt part number for the one you bought? When I look on Amazon, the 45405 shows 2 5/8" from the flange to the center of the pin. I measured mine and that distance is 2 1/8". So the flange is about a 1/2" out from my receiver. Thanks

I just bought a 2021 F250 with the PSD without max tow, and it has the 2.5 inchThe F350 comes with the 3 inch. Also Ford no longer supplies the 2.5 to 2 inch adaptor for the F250's they do supply the 3 to 2.5 inch adaptor still for the F350.

I had not received the adaptor when I purchased my truck I called the salesman and asked about it. The dealer gave me one, then I found out they where not supplied anymore (there is a thread on the forum around the first of Feb with the info).

Bottom of page two top of page three is the info.

The 2021 SuperDuty's only come with a 3-2.5 reducer. I have 2.5" hitches but need the 2" for my Thule bicycle rack.
I'll quote myself here. So I ordered the Ford OEM 2.5" to 2" reducer. I have a 2021 that came with a 3" hitch and a 3" to 2.5" reducer from the factory. I wanted to reduce this to 2" so I can fit my Thule mountain bike rack (yes for towing I will get a proper 3" shank). Anyhow I ordered the Ford factory 2.5-2" reducer thinking it would just fit inside the 3" to 2,5" reducer that came with the truck, but it does NOT fit. (Ford Part Number HC3Z-19H282-A) The flange on the Ford 2" reducer holds the sleeve too far out and the holes will not line up.

Does Ford make a 3" to 2" once piece reducer?

I bought a Husky 3 to 2. Have not used it yet but just a plain sleeve. Only downside is no ears. But there is enough that sticks out in mine to put a hose clamp around it as a stop. Cheesy but works. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Husky...-p/72-7606.htm

I used a Curt to reduce my 2.5 to 2 on my F350 7.3.
Folks mention that reducers rattle but I do not hear any rattle at all in the cab.
