Power Steering Pump Options

Hoping to get some suggestions on this.

backstory, have a 77 bronco I’m trying to bring back from the dead. Have redone brake lines, tranny, etc and was finally getting to drive it this weekend. It is 351w swapped and running accessory drive from a late 70s car with a CII style pump. I recently replaced the pump with a new one (with resovoir) from Rockauto as the old one I had was leaking around the resovoir o ring and run for a while without fluid unknowingly. Took it around the block and was having a wobble so I took it home and parked it in driveway. Upon determining it needed to go back in the garage I fired it up to drive it in and it hemorrhaged fluid everywhere. Hose was slightly loose so I tightened that and started to refill it when I noticed it was also dripping out the bottom of the housing again as I was filling it. Confirmed it is the housing leaking and not just residual blown out fluid.

so that leaves me with not great options. Can keep trying to fix this pump, but frankly I think the resovoir design is terrible not having positive pressure against the o ring and certainly not robust for wheeling like I intend to do. I have seen Saginaw conversions done and I like those pumps much better but that would require major accessory drive changes.

basically just wanting opinions from those who have done the conversion or suggestions for stuff to look at in terms of fixing the cii. Any advice is appreciated!

I did not do the conversion on mine (PO already did it the Sag conversion). But it turns my 35X14.50 x15 boggers just fine. I believe you can get a bracket and pump and not have to re-engineer the accessory drive?

Ditto on what he said - the "Canned ham" Saginaw pump is what you need if you re blowing pumps that fast......
