Need help, several issues.
Trucks a 1966 custom can 2wd with a 300.
1) found a random wire. Using some wiring diagrams I determined it's the wire for the oil pressure light. I can't see where it should connect. The truck has an aftermarket oil pressure gauge that's disconnected. So I'd also like to figure out what is missing from the cluster and replace it.
Here's a picture of the driver's side of the engine to see if you can help me point it out
from what I gather by wiring, the sensor on the block is water temp. Correct?
2) This bolt on the carb, what is this port for?
3) The horn. I troubleshot and found a broken wire in the column. The blue/yellow wire for the horn is broken off just below the blinker assembly.
Advice on repair? Can I rear down the column and get the wiring out? Is there a write up?
4) does anyone have window regulators for sale? I can't seem to find any in stock. Both doors.
The picture of the drivers side of the engine. I am looking at the oil pressure light switch. Which doesn't work. Or I don't think it does, I Would assume the oil light should be on when the key is on, engine off.
The brass plug is filling the hole the oil pressure sender goes in, and my lone wire under the hood is for the oil pressure sensor.
You're correct in what you've come up with so far. In picture 2, the carb port is for the stove pipe that controls the choke. Would need a matching port on the exhaust manifold to connect to. I believe '66 was still a manual choke, so carb likely not original. Many change to an electric choke when swapping carbs.
Maybe you can solder/repair the broken wire as it sits without removing anything from the column?

We could keep waiting. I was helping my daughter look up parts. It's her truck. The carb is not stock. It was installed by the previous owner. I'll research installing an electric choke.
As far as the wire andbwhere it is broken, it was all I could do to see it. I repair and do miniature soldering for a living. If I thought I could've repaired it, I would've.
