Fuel in oil issue
Fuel in oil issue
Hey forum, a buddy of mine, who isn't on here, bought a 2020 Ranger FX4 Lariat. Loves the truck but after about 11k miles, started getting a VERY strong smell of fuel around the truck. We realized very quickly that it was making oil (fuel diluting the oil). The dealer has had it since before Christmas, talked to an engineer etc and at this point is waiting on parts. What parts? We don't know. All we know is the HPFP is fine but it is getting new injectors. He's leery of the truck now and especially the way Ford is handling this. He was not offered a loaner and has not been kept in the loop very well by the dealer. This is a big dealer in our area and we are quite surprised at how this has gone down. I realize that the supply chain has been messed up due to Covid but the gaskets they are waiting on seem a little strange to be on backorder? Is there any remedy he can get on this? Just wants the truck fixed at this point. 3 months of payments and no truck and no timeline on getting it back.
