Chasing Gremblins 2003 Ford Expedition
Can anyone help me please! weeks ago: started running a little rough, service engine light came on, 5 days later started squealing like serpentine belts do when bad, replaced serpentine belt and altinator, helped for a few days, started doing all the same things again, replaced altinator again, service engine light went out but battery light came on, went 1 week, service engine light is on and everything is happening, Running rough, service engine soon on, battery light is on, intermitiant squealing in engine.

Where did you get the alternator? Your Expy most likely came with a 110 amp alternator, and that is what the computer is expecting to see. Most low quality autoparts stores have no idea what the rebuilt alternators they sell are rated at. If you got it from Advance Auto it could be anywhere from 100-150 amps, and the computer will balk at it and trigger a warning light. Go to NAPA or order a 110 amp alternator from Rock Auto.

So that does make sense. O'reilly's auto parts and it's under 100% warranty the 1st one that started this mess was less than a year old. As soon as the rain stops. In a few days. I'll do this first. We will see.

If the idiot light (check engine) came on then it should be throwing codes. What codes are you getting?
