Ok, we got a little truck and gave it a look over and was going to bring it back in before some cold weather, got delayed and never occurred to us it might not have anti freeze in it. Only started it to move around the shop but muffler is full of water and steam out of it with very faint coolant smell. Doesnt look like external leaks and when I pressure the coolant system it drops in about an hour, going to double check my connections but cant hear a leak. I suspect the water is being pushed thru it to the exhaust somehow, when we start its being pushed out. Not normal condensate but quite a bit.
I got to get over being depressed about it and figure out what went wrong. Any way it forced an intake manifold leak etc? I havnt worked on one of these, was getting ready to face pulling plugs and comp testing or cyl leakage.
Lets assume its busticated, how much and where does a guy score a new engine or long block? I do have a 98 Merc with a 4.6, prolly not the same engine?
