Finally joined
I've been reading your advice and humor for quite some time now. I have learned a great deal from many of you and have finally joined the forum today. Let me share a little bit about my truck.
I am the third owner of a 1976, Wimbledon White, F-100 Custom, short bed, 2 wheel drive, straight 6, 3 on the tree. Interior is blue. Exterior has had a poorly done paint refresh at some point. The truck is as original as you will find. The only things done by the original owner include: The addition of a Kelsey-Hayes trailer brake controller (I have the original manual too), aftermarket mirrors, a crappy radio and antenna (mounted in the wrong spot), and a now raggedy seat cover.
I bought the truck about 10 years ago from my brother-in-law who owned it for a very short time after buying it from the widow of the original owner. This is a no frills, no a/c, no power steering, no power brakes, no factory radio, Custom F-100. When my Brother-in-law bought it, he intended to use it in his landscaping business but realized quickly that he needed a bigger truck. When he told me he was going to sell it, I bought it on the spot. I've only driven it occasionally since then and it has been sitting for some time now.
Now.....ten years later.....it's time to get started!
