I joined this site a while ago and have been lurking around since. Now that winter is upon us in the great north frozen tundra, the 1968 F-250 is going to be put in the shop for some modifications and updates. I am hoping this site will be of some assistance in the process (by the reading I have done already, Im sure it will)
The truck. 1968 F 250 Camper special. NO power steering, NO power brakes. (YUK!) 360 w/new c6. ALL original and very boring. I am NOT a Ford guy, and kind of dispise the way ford designed stuff, but I have grown fond of this truck, as it is a rugged dependable old unit and it deserves to be on the road, WORKING!
My plans..... Fix the few rust spots and paint. Truck is all original and actually in really good shape for a Minnesota truck. I've had it for about 5 years and got it from the original owner after it had been parked for several years.
Add power steering and brakes, and put a TILT steering column in it.
Then I MIGHT lower it. Not sure how much yet, but it must still be functional. Im gonna use this thing. Haul stuff in the box and tow my racecar. Ford intended it to work, so it will.
My plans do not include a full off restoration, just a fix up.
So that is me and why I am here.
Hello to all
