1987 EFI jump start only help
I need help diagnosing a weird no start. 1987 efi 300 manual.
1. Truck broke down at oriellys Auto parts. Cranks but no start. Has spark and fuel. had a buddy chain pull me and it jump started while I was exhaust braking.
2. Let the truck sit for a week. Went out and started it 3 days in a row and let it idle while I was at lunch. No problems. Drove it 2 miles and it died while driving, buddy towed it home on a trailer. Came home and parked it for 3 weeks
3. went out and started it. Fires right up. Let it idle at my lunch for 3 days in a row. Drove it 1 mile to the gym. Came out and no start. Old man in a camper ford chain pulls me home and it fires up when pulled.
Things I’ve replaced in the past year.
distributor
wires
module on the distributor
2 relays for the fuel pumps
high and low fuel pumps are new
starter
starter Relay
battery
one thing is the battery cables get hot. Any help?
