Been mulling the idea of downgrading from my 2017 f250 gasser to a 1/2ton for some time, however the payload and tow capacity has never lined up for my trailers specs. Now looking at the f150 brochure its stating a Supercrew 4x4 with the 5.0l can have max payload of 2640 with max payload and max trailering tow package of 13000lbs. Both of which fall within the specs of my trailer when loaded.
But brochure and payload sticker rarely align. Can anyone share a real sticker close to those specs and details of their truck to achieve them? Really trying to get out of the harsh ride of the 3/4 ton with a buggered back and only tow it maybe 5 times a year on flat land.
Having same debate myself. But my hurdle is weight. F150 IMHO is too light in my case. F250 7.3L @ 1600 lbs heavier vs F150 hdpp. MY 2011 f150 is @ 550 lbs heavier than a new HDPP. If I had a 5th wheel likely ok but with heavy TT im leaning SD.
