I have a 99 f250 supercab that I completely stripped down to the cab and frame. I put everything from an 01 in this pickup and kept nothing electrical from the 99, after getting it all put back together and up and running I have a few things not working and hoping I can get some ideas
things that aren't working are
-power windows, power door locks ( does have remote keyless entry), esof 4x4, non functioning overdrive cancel switch, and no power to driver's seat, again all the wiring in the cab and engine bay is from the 2001 along with all the controllers, modules and switches, I did take it to Ford and after messing around with it for about 4 hours they called and said they can't figure out and to come get it, I haven't driven it anywhere as It doesn't have license or insurance on it right now, could it possibly be a fuse box and gem issue?? I did swap them out with a different one from the same year and configuration pickup except mine is V10 and this other one is from a 7.3, upon doing so I noticed with the new one that the 4x4 lights come on when starting the truck but I have no function afterwards, Ford put the old fuse box and gem back in and once again no 4x4 indications on instrument cluster upon starting, sorry for the long post, been at trying to figure this out for about a month and still haven't had any luck
7.3 and gas models are different. Get the gas fuse panels and GEM for gas. Do you know if all those things worked before you removed them from the '01? Did the parts come from a salvage yard? If so there's a possibility you didn't get everything if they sold some off the parts truck.
I personally removed everything from the 01 as I bought a complete running and driving wrecked truck, the windows and windshield we're broke so I'm thinking that the original fuse box and gem got water damage, I haven't opened up the fuse box like some others have but I don't have some of the other issues that they do and most everyone that has had gem issues loses the wiper function and mine still works not saying it still couldn't be a gem issue, the gas vs diesel thing could be a possibility for the gem but the fuse box has all the same fuses, and in the manual shows just the variances that it controls in the gas and diesel models, I was under the impression that the gem only controls accessories so it wouldn't matter what engine is in the vehicle since it has no engine controls, mine is a super cab and looking at the wiring diagrams and such, it shows only the excursion has the 4wd relays under the hood but mine has it as well as a few others I have looked at, aside from swapping with a vehicle that has everything the same as mine is there a way to have this gem tested??
