On a 1952 f1 , Why would the hinges be welded to the jamb? They weren’t that way from the factory right? But I feel like I’ve seen pictures of other trucks with the same welds. Was this something that was commonly done to them?

they were welded on both of my 49’s can’t say for a 52 and I welded mine back after adjusting and primer but before paint
Okay interesting i do vaguely remember someone telling me or reading maybe on here? I missed the part in the Manual. What page did you find that on Bob? I wonder why the welded them and they used the fasteners as well? Wonder if that's something that was done on all Fords prior from the 30's and 40's?

well damn...I don’t remember. I did adjust my doors and I’m sure it was in that section, but my manual is out in the garage and I’m all settled in on the couch. If you can’t find it, ping me tomorrow.
Well you guys may have solved my "thumping" problem with my driver side door. I posted that problem up a long time ago. Never solved it. Mine is NOT welded. I had it out and repaired my hinges and pins. I'll have to look at the passenger side. Never knew it was supposed to be welded.

My drivers door thumped when driving over bumps, for some time I thought it was the window glass. But one day I realized it was the door. The catch needed adjustment on the jamb so it catches and holds the door more securely now.

Come on Bob!! You mean you don't keep your shop manual on your coffee table in front of your couch??? LOL
