Pelican Cargo Cases?

Anyone used the new Pelican Cargo Cases yet?

https://www.pelican.com/us/en/produc...es/cargo-cases

Just ordered their BX135 to mount to my slide out?
https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/cases/cargo/bx135

Only thing I didn’t like at order is it doesn’t come with any foam. Not huge as I ordered separately and suppose many that want this don’t care about the foam, but I want to separate some gear etc.

Anyhow, just curious if anyone has used yet?

I'm a big Pelican fan.
For foam, your hardware store likely sells insulation spray foam kits in a propane like tank. With that, you could mold-your-own foam any way you need/like.

Yes, they look nice, I was looking at a Monoprice unit on Amazon, but thought I’d look at Pelican before I pushed that damn “purchase now” button..

This was similar in price and looks better built.

I was going to hard mound to slide out, but decided to just buy some D-rings and short transom ratchet straps. Case has metal mounting points so should be able to get secure enough. Liked this idea better as I can remove easier if needed!

I’ll post pics once it’s mounted!

Spray foam kits
I guess that would be a way to do it, but guess I was talking more like the packing foam:

I have a couple SledLocxx

I don’t want sliding around everywhere when not in use and other gear. Goal is to cutout an outline to place on top, then other stuff below.

Got the cargo case installed today.

I’m honestly a little disappointed in their new cargo cases. The unit looks really good and the lid, latches and mounting points are nice. However, when I first opened you can literally see light coming through the sides and bottom and they are pretty flimsy.

The lid is double walled and reinforced, but not the side or bottoms. I would say if its securely mounted it’ll be fine, but if there is heavy gear inside or it’s sliding around the bottom or sides won’t last long.

Overall it’ll do what I need, but for the price could/should be better...

Yes, don’t get me wrong it’s definitely better than a storage box from Home Depot, but was expecting a little better from Pelican.

Model number is: BX135

Link is in my first post as well!

I don't have a bunch of big stuff I store in the truck, so I bought a Yeti load-out cargo box and one of their 5-gallon buckets and keep all of my stuff in there.

The load-out box has big rubber feet on the bottom and stays in place, so it doesn't even need to be tied down. I added a bungee strap for the bucket to keep it in place. The cargo box allows me to keep all my stuff clean and dry and most importantly, out of the cab. The bucket helps when I need to pack a few tools or something back and forth somewhere.

I like that pelican has a mounting bracket that uses our factory box link locations. The one I am interested in is the bx 85 (I believe). It mounts up high on the side of the bed. Looks like you can position the box in the mount to either open towards the outside or inside of the bed. I’m just curious if it would fit under a tonneau cover.

i have this box.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lund-60-...60SL/202893165

pros- very strong, pour downpour water resistant, lockable, big storage area (easily fits milk crates), perfect fit in the space the decked draw system creates.
cons- its about 4" higher than I need, lid seems to be bowed (may be lock style)

I would swap it in a minute for

I see on the Pelican site that they have NOT revised their product warranty terms so that is goodness. Your comment about the thin sides raised my eyebrow. I am a Pelican fan because of their product quality and that they stand behind it. The two walk in hand-in-hand. If they've reducing product quality then I would expect the warranty would also be reduced speaking from a manufacturer's point of view. So, you're BX135 is covered if the sides do fail but then who wants to go thru the process of experiencing the failure and then the hassle of filing a claim? Nobody!
