Turbo replacement???

Got some disturbing news from the dealer when I took my truck in for service today. Truck had a check engine light on, turns out they are ordering a new turbo for my 2020 with under 5000kms anyone else had to have there turbo replaced?

the code was P003A - turbo out of range.

Apparently there is no stock and I have to wait till tomorrow for a possible eta on the turbo.

Definitely think you may be the first to post that here. Was there any precursor to the code popping?

I thought it may have been due to the extreme cold we were under. It had been unplugged for a couple hours after a bunch of running around. Thought just maybe due to not giving it enough time to warm up before we left. But drove over 600 km’s after the check engine light. Dealer said it was truck number two today, for the same thing.

I expect more information from my dealer in the morning as to ETA, further testing and diagnosis, etc.

Spoke with the dealer yesterday. Turns out the actuator on the turbo is the issue. So at least not a bearing failure, or worse.

They are just waiting on an ETA on parts.

This might help you understand what is going on to a certain extent.

Great video. I’d love to know what was restricting the movement and what caused it?

Normally it's from carbon building up and too cool of EGT's.
