Stock pitman arm

I recently bought a 06 F350 4x4 6.0 diesel. The previous owner put a level kit on the front of it. I don't think he put a longer drop down pitman arm. The reason I believe this is because it's hard to steer at idle speeds. Any thoughts???

A leveling kit doesn't require a drop pitman arm. They usually aren't needed until about 4" of lift.

How many miles? what size tires?

I'd be looking for worn out and binding steering components, maybe ball joints, or a pump that doesn't have enough pressure at idle. Could just be a slipping belt.

It doesn't squeal. Steering is tight. 221,000 miles. 35 12.50 tires.

Is this something that's always been like this or just started?

Those big tires will give a lot of resistance at idle. I know going from a stock tire to a 34 x12ish mud terrain was noticeably harder to turn with everything else being the same. If they're on high offset rims that just adding more.resistance. And with 220K+ miles ,If it's the original pump i bet it's worn and not putting out full pressure anymore. Just throwing out ideas. How old is the fluid? does it look clean?

When was the last time the front end was greased/lubed?

I just bought it last week. But it was his son's truck that he bought for him. The engine has over 12k in mods to bulletproof it. And new turbo and water pump. I was just hoping it would be a cheap fix with a pitman arm. They sell one for 3 to 6 inch lift.
