Rear Diff Capacity

Rear Diff Capacity
Replaced the rear diff fluid today. My document says that it should take 3.5quarts of fluid. I was only able to get 3 quarts in it. Starting putting the 4th quart in and started spilling out of the fill hole.
Should this be of concern?

2014 F250 6.7l diesel 4WD
