Help!

My mom lost they key for 1969 f250 and I have to change the door locks, ignition and switch. The red wire slipped out of the housing and I don’t know where it goes. The truck fires but dies after I let the key off of start.

Also, I think 68/69 original ignition switch would short out and catch on fire.

It is talked about some by numbers dummy in this thread:

Any GOOD locksmith can fit a new key to the existing locks in a matter of minutes....

There is a key code on one of the lock cylinders. A Ford dealer should be able to cut a key from that. If they still have the machine

A Ford key trick: have the ignition key cut on one side of the key blank, and the door key cut on the other side of the blank. Then have the ignition side marked on the new key. This way you only have to carry one key.

Some of/many of the Ford blanks are different for the doors and the ignition switch.
I found that the ignition keys and the door keys were the same for my 89 wagon and my 86 F250. Thought that was kind of odd.
