i bought an 7.3 excursion with pats issues. Got a second key and got it reprogrammed using forscan. The theft light went away BUT issue still persist.
Example: I can turn it, no problem, drive it and go to a to b. When I turn it off, it won't turn on unless it passes 2 hrs. I get no crank, no start, no theft light nothing.
I checked all the fuses, changed the bushings on the steering column (was bad), changed the glow plug relay (wasnt getting 12v), starter relay is good, new batteries, need new cable batteries (not sure if that can cause the issue), new starter.
we discovered a third party alarm system with a disabler in one of my other vehicles, was causing all sorts of problems, got a shop to remove the third party crap and all the problems went away.
