Headlight conversion problems

I have a 1987 F250 6.9 diesel that I put a 95 front clip on. I had to use the 95 bulb holders to go into the 95 headlight bezels and plugged them into the 87 wiring harness and now the lights are really dim. Do I need to switch some wires around to make the older harness work?

In 1995, lightgreen/black is the high beam to the socket, red/black is the lowbeam wire. Black is ground. Take a short piece of wire and connect it to the black wire, and then touch it to the negative of the battery. Do they get brighter? If they do, you have a grounding problem with the front sheetmetal. If you painted everything up really nice when you did this conversion, that can be a problem with grounds.
