I’m just cracked into the differential on my 73/75 FrankenFord F100 4x4. It has a Ford 9” LSD. I purchased last September knowing I was going to have to rebuild the rear end. I am rebuilding with Yukon 3.50 ring and pinion along with the Yukon axles. The current differential has about .5” of backlash. That’s right .5”! The ring gears teeth are worn to a knifes edge along with pinion gear which was razor sharp. With as much play and as thin as these teeth were I’m surprised I didn’t shatter the teeth of the darn thing.
