I’ve been trying to cobble together a history of my ‘51 F2. When I got it, the door jamb had a bunch of oil change stickers from Smiths Auto and Truck Service, Deshler, OH. Since that’s a little town, I’m wondering if anyone on FTE happens to live there and remembers my old red truck.
It must have spent most of its life in Ohio. In fairly recent years, it made it to Fort Knox, then Frankfort, Ky. That’s where I found it. Did you look at buying it in Ohio? What year?
Abe- There must’ve been a dozen stickers on the pillar. I kept the best one intact. Just can’t make out the mileage written on it. It shows around 86k now.
Oddly enough, just by chance, I found a photo of it that I didn’t take on Facebook. I recognized the running board dents and a farm bureau sticker on the tailgate. Weird.

Sorry not the same truck. I , unfortunately never got to see the truck I almost bought. We have a farm near Deshler and my dad had stopped and talked to the old fella that owned it and immediately called me, I almost pulled the trigger.
It turned out to be a ‘54 we think with a y block, but was red.

Right on. That would have been quite a coincidence if it was the same truck.
Might check to see if there’s a local paper that serves that community. If yes, did they run any articles and/or pictures of the truck. Also, if there were local holiday parades, was the truck a participant? Last, if you can read the stickers, call those shops for info.
