4x4 questions
89 f250 auto with 460. First question is a simple one. When Im in 4 hi the 'low range" light comes on and vice versa. Im assuming that somehow switch terminals got swapped??
I have driven and owned a lot of different 4x4 vehicles, I realize they can make some extra noise while in 4x4. Drove it in 4h for the first time this morning getting to work after a big snow. It seemed to function fine, but man was is was whiny, like a high pitched growl, especially if I was decelerating. Is this normal? Should I be looking into anything? It wasnt a a heavy grinding sound, like I said more of a high pitched growl or whine.

Lack of 4wd use and maintenance is the biggest challenge with these trucks, I have had to completely overhaul the front end on every one of the trucks I owned, typically the U joints are always dry and seized, diff fluid never been changed, bushings worn out or missing.

Reading the manual, those lights should be swapped. Its not really a big deal as I can easily tell what range Im in.
