Hello all. My son and i are going to be building this project for him and we are trying to get it done in time for his graduation. Its a tall order as i am gone away for a month at a time, so a lot of the work will be on his shoulders. Which is the way i think it should be!! So far we have driven it to a shop for a pre-safety, and it needs quite a bit of stuff. It turned out to be a little rougher than we had initially thought, but now that we are in it, we have to keep moving forward. here are a couple pics of what we have so far. it also needs cab corners and inner cab corners, but i cant find anyone who makes them. and while we have the cab off, we are thinking of replacing the rear cab mount support.
The truck has always belonged to a local farmer, and was used as a spray truck. its a 352 4 speed. every hole that is open was occupied by a city of mice!!! I also have to cut a little from each side where the air ducts are to be able to replace some rotten metal from mouse pee and poop!!
Anyway, on to the pictures......
I know this has been covered a thousand times, but I just cant help think that there has to be something better!!! I am looking into getting the Dennis Carpenter ones, and wish i would have when I ordered all this metal. But these don't even come close! The original sits nice, but the aftermarket one, i cant even make work. What, if anything, have others done, or should i just bite the bullet and get the DC ones? I'm in Canada, so they will cost me a fortune to get them here.

Duties and taxes. Plus if it comes UPS or Fedex or something, we get charged even more for import fees and all the paperwork involved in that. With shipping, and all those extra charges, if it came UPS, you'd be paying double!
So as of right now, I got a quote from The Mustang Shop in Calgary, and waiting on one from Larry's Cars and Parts out of BC. They both sell DC parts, and get a better break on all the shipping fees than what I would get.

You can ship UPS. Just tell UPS you are self declaring. You then deal with canada customs and most times just pay GST. UPS doesn't like it but that's the rules. UPS sends you the paperwork and you self declare.
Yeah, I ordered some from Larry’s. He actually stocks them so they will be here quickly. Which is good. We are trying to get this truck done for my sons graduation at the end of June so I need all the help I can get!

Quick question on wheels. We are looking at some kind of nascar-ish style wheel, and there a a few to choose from for 8 lug. Not many, but some. I was thinking 10" wide in the back, 8" in the front. But looking closer, it may be a little too tight in the back with 10's. So then I started thinking 9's in the back, 7's in the front. By chance does anyone have a similar combo on a 2wd f250? we will be lowering it a little, but not much, and not right at the moment. The wheels I am finding are 4.5" BS and 4.25" BS.
thanks

Your front cab mounts look good to reuse just fix the the rust and weld them back to the original spot welds. Then you know it is right back in the same spot. I did this to mine, in the picture. Also, Flashback 100’s makes the inner cab corners and they are a nice fit. I sliced mine in a spot to get the angle right but it was easy. Were at in Canada?
Yeah I saw that flashback makes those. I think we will just make our own flat ones or something. Not going for a concours resto or anything. I like the looks of your cab floor. We will be painting ours in por-15 when we are done.
I ended up ordering the mounts from Larry’s cars and trucks out of BC. He actually stocks a lot of parts for our trucks. All the weather stripping and window stuff he has in stock. He was excellent to deal with as well.
we are located in southwest Manitoba.
thanks
