I washed my truck a week a go and was manually turning the 4x4 hubs and forgot to disengage the driver side.
Fast forward a week of driving to work and back and this weekend in the snow .
I notice a slight squealing sound as I accelerate or just drive coming from I believe the front driver side .
It's not a rock in the calliper I had checked that It's not a rock in the calliper I had checked that, next thing I did was check to see if the front U joints were low and grease and grease those and that's when I realised that the driver side was still engaged in 4 wheel drive I disengaged it took it for a drive and there is still that squealing sound.
Dont think its related, lots of guys have run with one locked one not, sounds to me like you need brakes, does it go away when you slightly touch the brake pedal, yup that the issue!
Not sure , I'm the only one home at the moment.
I'll I can say forsure is there is no sound until the 4x4 is engaged.
It does go away after it is disabled and drove a bit but is put in 4x4 and taken out then reverse a little and drive it's gone right.

no but only happens in 4x4 and goes away if driven a bit or right away after put in reverse about 20 ft and placed back to drive ?
