Has anyone here used an SMD distortion tool or figured out at what volume level the factory head unit output clips? In particular to the standard non amplified/non subwoofer Sync 3 system (7 speaker). Any help is much appreciated.

Why would anyone use such a tool on the “stock” head unit.

Complete waste or time.

 

The 7 speaker starts to cut bass and mids after volume 21. The 8 speaker holds to volume 27.

Science? Pulease....... A lot of people consider me an audiophile, I consider myself a musicphile. When I was younger I was all over making the vehicle I drove sound as good as possible without breaking the bank. The main audio system in the house is in the high 4 digits if not very low 5 digit figures. I don't worry about the vehicles anymore. If it's listenable, it's fine. The automobile environment is NOT the place to achieve the best sound quality, road/wind noise, etc.
