I have a 2004 expedition Eddie Bauer that a couple of weeks ago lost some functions. My auto lights don't work, the dash outside temp readout is - - and it doesn't detect the doors being closed. Is all this on one system or is there some fuse I need to look for? I've checked the majority of the fuses in the passenger fuse box but nothing bad I could find. This happened after a radio swap.
The Auto headlight sensor is in the little black thing sitting in the top middle of the dash cover that houses your security LED. The outside air temp sensor is up behind the front grill. You have to take the grill top cover off and you'll see it right there, easy to get to. The door being closed detector is the door jamb switch that's mounted to each door latch. You have to pull the latch out to get to each one. If you have the free ForScan program you can run through the door jamb switches on it and see which one(s) are bad. It's usually the driver's door switch but you can be sure by running through them on Forscan. When you purchase replacement door jamb switches you have to specify the right or the left side because the mount orientation is different between the sides.
Would all of this fail at the exact same time? For scan shows all doors are open. No error shown for the auto head lights and temp sensor worked fine the day prior. Really all of them worked fine the prior day of me switching the radio. After I was done putting it back together all of these stopped working.

Oh ok. Did you notice any sparks or smoke when you were doing your radio installation ? I didn't realize it all happened at the same time and they had all been working fine the day before you did the radio work.
I think Alloro is pointing to the body security module. Does the little red LED flash on the sensor ontop of your dash?

Little light still flashes and all those fuses are good. So I check with forscan and it shows all doors a closed but doesn't change if I open or close any. Also if I lock the doors with the door switch and close them the lights flash with the lock conformation as normal but if I use the key fob they don't flash.
So forscan reports doors closed. Dash reports them open. Accessory delay just stays on for 15 minutes no matter what. No auto headlights and a code that the compass module isn't responding or something. Outside temp on dash doesn't work but works on the electronic ac displays ext temp button.
