Are you sure on that #? What type of vehicle did the tank come out of originally? A 84-90 little Bronco II by chance?

70's dually would/should NOT have a plastic tank. Unless if was the in front of the rear axle, mounted inside the frame. I know you can get a rectangle shaped plastic tank on a 79 F250 4wd in front of the axle, mounted inside the frame.

So just where did you get that engineer #? d8ta9002eb

And is that tank aft of the rear axle and in between your frame rails?

 

tank is behind rear axle with skid plate and has numbers on top and between rails and is roughly 29 gal

 

 

Well I am trying to run those numbers and see just what it came out of, then the sending unit should be able to be found. The numbers you posted are not coming back to anything.

 

Rebuilt Fuel Sending Unit Specialist (tristarrradiator.com) I have no experience with them, but might try and give them a call.

 

I've heard of people using an International Scout plastic tank on highboys for the rear location. Not sure what model Scout though. But that just adds more mystery to our conundrum.

 

Hmm, I can't place where that tank would have been sourced from either. I'd say a chevy dually but those are ford numbers. Here's a picture I have handy of a 1993 cab and chassis gas tank (on the left) and a 1977 camper special tank and shield (on the right). Neither one matches your tank... Maybe its a bronco tank?
