I installed a new Alpine radio in my truck and now I realized I dont have a display for the outside temp gauge
Has anyone figured a way to get it to show up on a after market radio or if there is another way to display it

my biggest beef with F150 and F250 is that ford did not put the outside temperature on the instrument cluster
if you use carplay, there is no way of knowing the outside temperature without pushing buttons.

I just say Hey SIRI what is the outside temperature and the nice lady tells it to me(-; I guess I you have a Google or Android phone they will do the same thing.
Yup hit the 3 or 6 little squares on the bottom left side then select Ford it brings you back to the home screen to see the Temp, but you leave CarPlay when you do it.
No temp display on CarPlay, unless you open Ford app and return to sync home screen.
Temperature is pretty important while winter driving, it should be displayed on instrument panel where a ton of useless information already resides and takes up real estate. I think the older SD had this by the compass, i dont know why they took it out.

yeah this morning I started it in negative weather, I still don’t have the block heater installed yet, it started ok but cranked for a little longer than usual
I agree, last night driving home late, it was raining temps were 35º, then plummeted in a span of an hour, and was freezing rain. Truck slid on ice. Two button presses later, "oh its 22º "... It really should be displayed all the time.
I rented a Toyota car one time to go from Cleveland OH to Knoxville. It was late Nov, and we where getting a freezing rain snow mix when I started out. I got in the car and it kept beeping at me until I looked at the instrument panel and it said possibly freezing rain. I hit ok and took off. Driving down the highway in WV in the mountains the damn thing started beeping again. I started looking around to see WTF was wrong, and on the instrument display it said it might be freezing rain. No Poop I am looking out the window at it. This kept happening until I turned the car back in after my trip.
I know I derailed the topic but I would never buy a Toyota car because of all the damn beeping it did during that trip.
Now back to your regular scheduled topic.
When I asked Siri the last time she said "burr it is 18 degrees in XYZ town".

Nope, can’t be done.
The temp gauge on the OEM 8 inch screen is part of the SYNC 3 system.
You’re going to have to rely on your cell phone.
I’m an iPhone man so I use Apple CarPlay but if you use Android Auto, I believe that it shows the temp on the screen when using Google Maps and yes, this will only work for Google Maps users who are using Android Auto.
