Pulled the 5.8 & E40D out of the donor and have the engine on a stand. I have another engine stand and was going to put the transmission on it so I can clean it up and service the filter/etc. I have put C6s on stands before but this overdrive is huge (long/heavy). I wasn't going to remove the converter,,,nothing leaking so didn't want to disturb it. I was concerned that because of the weight/length, it might bust the ears on the bell housing. I have the standard 4 arm stand. Will the trans be OK on that? It is sure easier to work on than rolling around on the floor. Thanks in advance.
Another alternative, especially if you plan on pulling the pump, clutches, and other internals. This pic is of my brothers transmission he pulled to do a little work on it.
