I have a 1990 F-150 XLT X-cab short bed with a 302EFI automatic 2 wheel drive. Why is my truck hard starting when it's cold? I have new plugs, wires, dis cap, and air filter. Please let me know what you think is going on with my baby. Thanks again everyone
when i first bought my 94 f-150 with efi, i had to stomp the pedal like a carb and it was tpi sensor. i think my 88 may be same
because it will die, idle at light.
i don't think early versions of efi would show check light untill it gets very bad.
hope this helps.

The IAC bolts to the TB via two small 5-8mm bolts. There is a pair of wires running to it also. It's easier to take the TB off and replace the IAC but isn't necessary to. I tried to clean my old IAC a few times to no avail so I just broke down and scooped up a new one.
