outside rearview hinge mirror problem

outside rearview hinge mirror problem
HI All
I recently purchased a pair of hinge mirrors from a leading F-1 supplier. The problem is they are the right height to fit the mirror bracket but in order to fit the hinge pin I would have to shave some metal off the outside edge of the hinge. Is this normal as it is easy enough to do but does not seem right..
Perhaps I have non standard hinges???? Could one of you guys measure from the centre of the pin to the outside of the hinge??
