Has anybody used acc from summit racing? It looks good and it’s only $100. Also I need a front bumper for a 79 and there’s a lot of options cheaper ones and premium ones is there a big difference between the two.
ACC makes most all the carpet for these pickups. if there's another I've yet to find it but I'd like to. ACC fits like crap but it's all we have, I've heard the mass backing option makes it fit better and I've heard it's worse. so I don't know.
AMD bumpers are better than the Goodmark, Keystone and all the others selling the same bumper under different names. I tried both and I can say AMD isn't show quality but probably better than anything else.
I used carpet from https://www.autointeriors.biz/ in my 79 F150. Fit very well, & has held up great. The nice thing about Automat is that you can select the grade of carpet you want, from standard up to top quality. They are not the carpet supplier for the person concerned only with paying the lowest price.
I used acc. Carpet off ebay, went with the loop carpet with the standard jute backing, it fit pretty decent I my case and all the pre marked holes lined up good I did add some foil backed stick on isolation befor the carpet donno if that help or not
Called Auto Interiors today. I have 79 reg cab they want $271 and $406 with backing. They said it’s not ACC, I don’t know what to do I could get acc at rock auto for $117 that’s a big price difference.
As I mentioned, Automat, web ID Auto Interiors, is not cheap. They do not drop ship ACC carpet like everyone else, they cut & sew it in their shop in New Jersey. I like how my Automat carpet fits in my 79 F150, & it has held up well. It is cut & sewn, not molded. I can't compare them with ACC's carpet as I haven't used their offerings, nor have any friends. Thinking back it has probably been in there for close to 20 years since I installed it. Can't see much of the carpet in this picture, but it is the only interior shot I had handy.
Yeah you get what you pay for. I just try to save money when I can, restoring a truck isn’t cheap lol. I like your door panels and steering wheel. Is that a bronco wheel?
The steering wheel is a real leather wrapped Sport wheel. I'm not sure what Ford models had the leather wrapped wheel, but the Sport wheels could be found in just about any Ford or Mercury from the mid 70's to mid 80's. This one was a $10 swap meet find. One of the best upgrades I've done to the truck that fat rim is so much nicer than the skinny stock rim.
Yeah, its hard to spend all the money you would like to on these trucks. This one has been a work in progress for 20+ years. It gets upgraded as I find nice parts at bargain prices, or prices I can afford.
