Went to order a new F-350 and have to wait until March sometime to submit, and it will be a 2022. Seems way early for a shut off. On that note, does anyone know of any changes coming?
If you look at the order guide, it will tell you specifically what is changed/new for the model year. I would not order a vehicle without going over the guide very carefully. It will save you from those "I thought" mistakes.
Ford can't get semiconductors/chips/components, other vendor items (vehicle electronics content has grown from 15% a decade ago to (in some cases) close to 65% today).
I don't trust the company these days (I think mgt is loaded with shysters) -- they've totally cooked their books (non-GAAP accounting/reporting EVERYWHERE, other shenanigans) in the recent Quarterly Report released this past week.

Sources show that it will be an early end to the 2021MY orders but not this early. Have you tried more than one dealer?

I ordered a new F-250 on Jan. 4. Dealer said Ford stopped taking orders on 2021 Super Duties a couple weeks ago. Can't place an order for the 2022 until sometime in March.
Small town North Texas Ford dealer here...Ford told us about this awhile back. To be honest, as least here, it shouldn't be that big of a deal since we don't have many folks ordering 'em. Stinks for the OP, though, as ordering is probably the best way to get one of these rigs nowadays.
I placed an order 1/30, haven’t heard anything from the dealer since then one way or the other. Waiting to see what 2022 has in store to see if I accept the 2021 or place another order. My guess is not much changes.
Anyone hear anything more on this ? I'm in the process of putting together an order and if it's true I'd rather wait for a '22 but I don't want to wait until October like last year.
Reading the schedule, last day to order for retail 2021 Model would be March 11. First day of order for Model 22 would be March 15 with production starting June 1.
The best information would be direct from your Ford dealer. Some might not have allocation available. It might be they cut off order early due to no more room in the schedule. Or maybe they are delayed due to chip availability.
If you wait for the Model 22 with production starting June 1, usually their would be a delay for your order because unlikely you are going to be first as usually they want the first ones out to the dealers for their showroom. I would say it is more likely arrival might be late summer.
And this is only with regards to the schedule. Price might be an issue also as the new model year has price increases along with new options. And the new order guide is not out yet so noone knows what will be in it.
I just reactivated my fleet account , I haven't used it in a couple years and it's always a PITA to get back in. maybe I can learn a little there once they open it back up. they don't tell you much but maybe at least the order dates.
I've talked to both of the dealers I normally deal with and they know less than I do. one fleet manager says he won't take an order until April and the other says no problem he can have a pickup here in 10 weeks. but he has no idea when the model year changes or what will change .
