Well, I have been locked up inside for a while now due to the cold weather and an unheated garage. So in my boredom, I wanted to figure out how to organize the spark plug wires on my 400 rebuild. Originally the truck had the push-on separators that go on the valve cover bolts. I only had 3 intact ones that were still on the engine and I really wanted to continue to use those, so I spend the evening replicating them in CAD. I have done the one that holds 3 wires, still working in the 4 wire version.
Here is a picture of the finished CAD model:
And here is a comparison between the original one and a quick 3D print of the CAD version. It's not perfect, but it is good enough for me. It clips on the valve cover stud very securely and also holds the spark plug wires well.
If it is any help, I replaced all of my old broken factory plastic wire retainers with these Dorman ones, and they've been working well. They fit on the factory bolt/studs as well.

Those look good. Might be a backup option if things don't work out with my print. To be honest, working them out in CAD and printing a set of them is more of a can than should thing.
Besides, I like the quite thin design that ford used. They don't really stand out from the engine.
Is that nitpicking and a waste of time? Yeah, 100%
Will I be using the dorman ones if the ones I am making don't turn out well? Most definitely!
So, thanks for showing me those, might fall back on them
