79 Frame v.s. 88 Frame.
If I was looking to swap a 1979 f150 single cab short bed on to a 1988 f150 single cab short bed frame what differences would I see. Is it possible? are they the same? are they just not compatible?

From what I've seen the frames on the 80-97 trucks are similar enough from the transmission crossmember back that a lot of stuff is a direct swap. The front of the frames are different, depending on what front suspension it had, 2wd vs 4wd, solid axle vs TTB, etc. A body swap shouldn't be all that difficult, but you might have to move the frame side body mount perches to line up with the old cab.
