Did any of the E-vans from around 2000 come with vertically adjustable driver and/or passenger seats (manual, not electric)? The seat position in my 2001 E250 is OK, but I'd really like to be able to adjust it higher, if that's possible. - Thanks!
Odd that you post this question because I too want to raise my driver seat an 1" to 1-1/2" higher on my e350 Super Duty wagon
I plan to use aluminum square tubing, drill holes for the seat bolts then drill 5/16" holes for carriage bolts for the spacer to bolt onto the seat base.
Got to find time to do it though.
Two things that I wish e-series van have are power seats and larger power tow mirrors like the F-series Super Duty extendable tow mirrors.
Power seats from other vehicles can be modified with brackets but mirrors would be difficult to make fit unless one had both e-series and f-series mirrors that can be swapped and modified.
[QUOTE=Mike1;19712939]Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a seat cushion if you want to sit a little higher??

No fun in that, LOL.
Raining hard so I made time to to make the riser by cutting then drilling the bolt holes in the 1-1/2" stock this morning.
Then I removed the seat's (4) 15mm nuts, inserted the riser then tighten. The mounting bolts are 3/8" with nylock nuts with flat washers.
Now the wife will be able to get a better view out the front windshield.

Hey I like that, I was about to use angle iron to raise the seat on my swivel base, pretty heavy option, gonna look into that.

Thanks for posting this - it looks like a great solution! OK I now have my next project.
Where did you find the square aluminum? I wonder if a place like Home Depot would carry that.
Yeah I didn't want to just throw in an extra seat cushion (or a pillow).. I want to still be sitting in the seat proper, just a little higher.

I went to a metal recycler outfit near me where I bought a 3/16" thick x 2-1/2"wide x 1-1/2" high x 24" long rectangular aluminum. Cut 4 pieces at 1-1/2" wide then drilled accordingly. Less than 2 hr project at a cost of less than $5.
