Okay gentlemen, I need some insight. Earlier this week, my AC started blowing hot air, even at 60 degrees. Up until a few weeks ago, it would freeze me out at 60 degrees, and burn you out at 65 degrees. I have had some cracked hoses replaced in the past and it did get more air out of the vents, but another problem I am having is that when it is extremely humid (like every day here in Mobile, AL, The cold air will come out of the vents like it is on defrost. Well, not in the last few days, but you understand.
In the morning, I am going to the Ford stealership and going to pay the fee for them to tell me what is wrong. Gonna be like $125.00 for diagnostics. Somebody tell me that there is a $20.00 sensor that might have gone bad? No way I could be that lucky. I just rolled over 275,000 miles on the King Ranch. Hope I can get some insight to prepare me for the bad news tomorrow.
It could just be as simple as it's low on freeon. Go buy a bottle with a pressure gauge and check it out. Follow the directions on the bottle. Don't overcharge it.

I'm glad those recharge kits are back. Last summer I bet I did a dozen or more jobs reclaiming freon on overcharged systems. They are a moneymaker. If you don't know what you're doing it doesn't take much to really fubar it up.
Did you hose off the condenser unit in the front? When's the last time the AC components were checked? Condenser, Dryer(Accumulator), Evaporator, Orifice Tube? Maybe it's time to check and change those parts out for new ones. I am going to do that in a couple of weeks. My AC also blows at 60-65 degrees and in Central Florida, it doesn't cut it.

Yes. I had a problem with the direction the air was blowing out for a long time. Then, I got that fixed with replacing some cracked hoses. The system has been checked. Today, I am getting it hooked up to the Ford computer today at a dealership and we will see what they say. I am really hoping it is some kind of temperature sensor that has gone bad, but with my luck, no chance that happens.
Hopefully the dealer will be upfront and honest with you and NOT sell you a $1,900 system overhaul. Are you handy? These components (if needed to be replaced) can be done with a little bit of research, the right tools and time.
